How are you longing to be moved…
In body?
In heart?
In mind?
In spirit?
Hello, I’m Amanda
I work as a therapeutic recreation specialist in an acquired brain injury program and as a yoga teacher (now yoga therapist in training).
I believe in a holistic approach to everything in life.
Aside from yoga, I immerse myself in hiking, animals, nourishing food, audiobooks, the company of friends and family and being outdoors. I have practiced an active lifetyle for 30 years and have been supporting people experiencing disability for 15 years.
I have briefly known failing health and not being able to exercise - so each time I exercise or do breathwork (whether it is yoga, strength training or HIIT style run-walks or workouts), I am grateful that I am able and I am fueled with the desire to help others move and be moved, meeting each person where they are in ability and life stage.
I am passionate about helping make the joy of movement accessible to everyone. All of my offerings are offered in a way that sees each whole person and accommodates all levels of experience and ability.
I continually learn and grow to best serve my participants. If you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out through my email or socials below.
What to Expect:
I approach everything with a holistic mindset - my everyday life, the trainings I choose and the support and services I provide. I encourage a well-rounded life and multi-faceted activities to support your successes and fulfillment. I will bring the many teachers (people, books, life experiences and lessons that led me here) into my approach with you and will offer you autonomy, variety and options.
What I Offer:
My certifications and experience range from my therapeutic recreation diploma, various yoga certifications (Hatha, yin, meditation, restorative, healthy aging, Ayurveda, LoveYourBrain), HeartWise Exercise, third degree reiki, medicine wheels, thanadoula certification and various person-centred, trauma-informed and brain injury trainings.
